Charlene Miers Foundation for Cancer Research (Foundation) is an Oklahoma not-for-profit corporation.

Tulsa - Oklahoma

CMFCR advocates federal and state legislation to further cancer research, and action to prevent, diagnose, treat and find a cure of cancer. We advocate finding, as soon as possible, how to stop the 570,000 cancer deaths now occurring in the United States each year, the annual cost of cancer to the nation of over $220,000 billion, and the fearful human and emotional challenges of cancer for millions of Americans, their families, friends and employers.

Charlene Miers Foundation for Cancer Research advocates Congress increasing appropriations that fund cancer research through The National Cancer Institute, and creation of a National Cancer Fund to provide more certain long-term financial support of cancer research. Our organization advocates other federal and state legislation, and public and private sector efforts to increase public awareness and support of the urgent need for and accelerated cancer research. We advocate and seek government, institution, business and individual action to more rapidly and effectively prevent, diagnose, treat and find a cure of cancer.
